Chartered in 1945 as part of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association — now SMART, the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers — Local 409 represents sheet metal workers and roofers across mainland Nova Scotia. Our members work in HVAC installation, fabrication and service; architectural sheet metal and cladding; manufacturing; and metal & flat-roof systems, on the commercial and industrial projects that shape the province.
