Agreements, benefits and pension, the meeting schedule, wellness support and the links members reach for most.
01
Collective agreements
Local 409 bargains the Mainland Nova Scotia sheet metal and roofers collective agreements with the Nova Scotia Construction Labour Relations Association (NSCLRA), under the accredited multi-employer structure for the province. The agreements set wages, benefit contributions, hours, overtime and working conditions for every signatory job.

03
Member meetings
Regular membership meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 5:30 PMat the Union Centre. This is where the local does its business — reports, votes, dispatch and the issues that matter to the membership. Showing up is the union.
Meeting dates can shift around holidays — watch for notices from the hall.
04
Wellness & mental health
SMART provides confidential mental-health and wellness resources for members and their families — support for stress, addictions, financial pressure and family strain. The trades are demanding work, and reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.
If you or someone in your home is struggling, contact the hall. Calls are private and never tied to your employer.
